Cycling in the College Valley

There are 8 miles or so of paved roads with restricted access for vehicles. The road climbs from Hethpool at 157 metres up to Mounthooly and Goldscleugh at 270m and 308m respectively.

The descent down the valley provides some fantastic views down the Valley. For a picnic halfway down the valley, the ford at Southernknowe is ideal. Please note that this is a working estate and unfortunately the heavy timber lorries can damage the roads so beware of pot holes!

If you include the bridleways and footpaths then there are over 28 miles of paths to explore on a mountain bike.
