Rouse family including doggies – Sept 2022

Wow, what a lovely place. It’s brilliant for our dogs which is what I was looking for – safety! Big garden to relax and escape proof which it was, it ticked all the boxes. The cottage itself is beautiful and very well kept. Lovely and clean, nice and warm and everything you could want for a holiday. The place is totally relaxing, lots of great walks, scenery and wildlife all on the doorstep.
We will definitely be back and I will tell my walking group about the area too. Just wish we had booked a few more nights but there is always next time.

Minton Family including Henry 🐕 – Sept 2022

After holidaying here for many years, we were married on 24th September at Cuddystone Hall. The College Valley is very special to us and even more so now. It was a magical, wonderful day. The goats even called to wish us well 😊. Our families and friends were blown away by the beautiful scenery and I think we have inspired many of them to return for holidays. We couldn’t have asked for a better day for our wedding. See you again soon!

Mike and Caroline – August 2022

WOW! This is the most amazing place I have ever been to. The wildlife, scenery, walking, night skies (we saw so much, including shooting stars galore). We became abundantly aware of how insignificant us humans are when we looked up to the skies to see all those stars, it’s impossible to comprehend the size and timescales of it all.
We went up the valley to walk up the Hen Hole, it was the best walk I have ever done. We came back via Schil, next time we will take on the Cheviot! The views were stunning. Oh by the way the Mill is fabulous, we were very comfortable during our stay.
Thank you everyone who is involved in making this all possible for us to come and stay here. We will be back.
P.S. (Caroline here) – I love and really value the way this valley is being preserved for nature – well done, please keep it up. There are so few places like this.

The Fawcetts – Oct 2019

We have returned to Hethpool Mill after 8 years and not much has changed, how lovely!

We’ve had a great time. We saw the wild goats before Hethpool in a field of sheep, saw roe deer twice, heard owls, saw rabbits, pheasants, grouse and lots of garden birds.

We look forward to a return visit and won’t leave it so long this time. Thank-you for a lovely, comfortable house.

Liz and Gareth – May 2019

Our fourth time staying in the College Valley, the third at Hethpool Mill. Had another fantastic week. Loads of wildlife around the Mill, hares, wild goats, baby rabbits, and the owls kept us entertained during the night with their twit-twoo calls.

We did some brilliant walks including Great Hetha and hillfort trail, St Cuthberts Cave and the Kyloe Hills, and finally we made it to the top of Cheviot!

Looking forward to our next visit!
